England are coming to Northland!
The Northland Cricket Association is excited to announce that the England Test team will play two warm up fixtures, for their upcoming Test series against the Black Caps, against a New Zealand XI at Cobham Oval in November this year.
There will be a Two Day squad match played on November 12 and 13 and an official first class Three Day match on November 15, 16 and 17. Each day will start at 11am.
Brent Martin, the Chairman of the NCA Board, feels that it’ll be fantastic hosting one of the best test nations in the world. “To have players of the calibre of Joe Root, Jos Butler, Jonny Bairstow, Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes, playing at Cobham Oval, is fantastic. It’s a great chance for the Northland community to come and watch some of the best players in world cricket”.
NZC CEO David White has said “Cobham Oval holds a special place in New Zealand cricket history and it’s great to see it hosting two England warm-up matches. The venue is superb and the wider region so attractive – everyone likes coming to Northland.”
Match details; including ticketing, hospitality packages and other relevant information, will be advertised over the coming months.
